Switching banks has never been that exciting – until today. If you’re a Virgin Red member, there’s an extra 15,000 Virgin Points in it for you, when you switch to the Virgin Money Current Account from the Virgin Red app or website (terms apply*).

To stash the points all you need to do is:

  • Apply online from the Virgin Red app or website for the Virgin Money Current Account and follow the steps below within 31 days of your account opening date

  • Complete a full bank switch using the 'Current Account Switch Service'

  • Download and register for the Virgin Money mobile banking app

  • Transfer or set-up at least two Direct Debits to your new account and don't cancel them until Virgin Money sends your Virgin Red promo code

  • Credit your linked Instant Access Savings Account with at least £1,000 and keep this in your account until Virgin Money sends your Virgin Red promo code

What could 15,000 Virgin Points get me?

An excellent question. With the brand new Virgin Red app, there are loads of ways you can spend your new points haul.

With 15,000 Virgin Points you could get 75 Greggs sausage rolls, or vegan sausage rolls if that’s your thing (they’re just 200 Virgin Points each). That’s one every day for approximately two and a half months. Alternatively, you could use 9,000 Virgin Points and treat yourself to six bottles of wine from Virgin Wines.

If, like us, you’ve been dreaming of travelling, boost your Virgin Points balance (more on how to do that in a hot second) and bag a return Virgin Atlantic flight between London and New York City for just 20,000 Virgin Points (plus taxes, fees and charges).

Boost your Virgin Points

If you want to save your Virgin Points for something special, there’s plenty of ways to earn more. You could switch your energy supplier to Octopus energy and earn up to 7,400 points.

You could also earn Virgin Points on your Saturday night takeaway, with loads of online retailers to choose from including Just Eat, ASOS, Argos and John Lewis. So what are you waiting for? Get earning, saving and spending your Virgin Points today.
